Before the Paling of the Stars (9/10/14) for SATB choir and piano – Duration: 4’05”. This lovely setting of Christina Georgina Rossetti’s poem, A Christmas Carol, is bound to please. The interplay between choir and piano is both joyful and memorable.

On that Night (2011) for SATB chorus and piano – 3’00”.  This telling of the birth of Christ modulates seamlessly through several keys building anticipation for Christmas.

St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wilmington, NC, where On That Night was premiered by the chancel choir under Ray McNeely on Christmas Eve, 2011.

Thus Angels Sang (2011) for SATB chorus and piano – 3’15”.  This gentle Christmas anthem is full of praise for Christ’s love and sacrifice.

The Morning of Christ’s Nativity was premiered in November, 1982, at the University of Alabama, Tusca1oosa by the Tuscaloosa Community Chorus.  That group no longer exists.  Tuscaloosa now hosts the Prentice Community Singers, shown here.

“The Morning of Christ’s Nativity” (1976) for SATB chorus and woodwind sextet.  The current version substitutes organ for the woodwind sextet.  Using excerpts from John Milton’s Hymn from On the Morning of Christ’s Nativity, the work paints a glorious picture of a world at peace and under divine control as Christ is born.
